Raising Aspirations - Careers Assembly

Date: 20th Sep 2018 @ 7:29pm

This term, Thursday assemblies will focus on raising aspirations through guest speakers sharing their current or previous job experience with our KS2 pupils. Firstly, the children ask questions to guess the mystery job of the guest. We then learn about the reponsibilities of their role; potential employers: the qualifiications required; the transferable skills (which all children will be developing in school) and the salary.

This week, we would like to thank our careers guest speaker (Mr Shone), who shared his job experience as a catering manager. Well done to Abigail who won the weekly prize for her excellent questioning.

If any parents/carers would like to volunteer to share their work experience during a short assembly on any given Thursday at 10:30am please contact the school office or Mr Aspinall. As we are focussing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects during the Autumn term topic of 'Curious Minds' we would particularly welcome anyone who has experience working in any related industry.
