Comets!

Lesson: Topic

As part of our 'Space' topic we were lucky to have some visitors from the Daresbury Laboratory come in to school to talk to us about space. Wendy and Gemma talked to us about comets and how they travel through space, and we learnt that they are really just a dirty snowball!  We found out about the two tails that a comet has - a straight ion tail and a wide dust tail, and how we can tell which way a comet is travelling by looking at its tail. Then we had the opportunity to make our own comets and demonstrate them flying around the Sun.  We really enjoyed leaning about comets!
