Dairy House farm Visit

We had a super day out at Dairy House farm on Friday 20th May with Rosie. Her enthusiasm for the animals was infectious as the children soon gained in confidence, holding and feeding a whole variety of animals. We went into the field of sheep and their lambs, prepared their feed and looked on as the lambs ate. We met the two orphaned lambs and we were even quick enough at swopping to let everyone have a go at feeding them from a bottle; it doesn't last long they feed very quickly. We treated the chickens to what looked like tropical mix, met the rams-including the 'Commander',  met Dave the bull and the horses. We found swallows nests in the barns and even got to see some very tiny baby blue tits. At the end of the day we planted some potatoes in containers we had filled with lots of worms! We have brought back some pumpkin seeds and some little scarecrows to make, Rosie has invited us back to the farm to plant them out ready for Halloween.

Thank you Rosie, we had a fabulous day with you.
