On line learning week beginning 25th January 2021

This half term our topic is ‘not all super heroes wear capes!’ We are going to be thinking about people who help us, how they help us and what they do.

This week we are going to be thinking about doctors, nurses and paramedics, we are continuing to think about rhyming. This week we will also be thinking about 2D shapes.

Have a go at this ‘Get well soon’ jigsaw

Can you draw a picture of a doctor or nurse or paramedic, can you write down what they do and how they help, try to colour the picture using the right colours. When you are writing, make sure you have a think about what sounds you can hear in the words you want to write

Can you draw a medical bag, what items do you think a doctor would need to have in their medical bag?

Can you draw a picture of a cat, a hat, a dog, a frog, a pin, a bin, a shop, a mop, a house and a mouse. When you have drawn all the pictures, mix them up and then turn them over, so they are picture down and play rhyming picking twos. You only get a match if the two words rhyme.

Can you borrow a phone or a camera and take some photographs of the shapes you can find around your house? Get your grown up to take a photograph of you taking the photographs.

Tell you adult the names of the 2D shapes that you know, can you tell them how many sides and corners each of them have, now can you make a picture just using the 2D shapes.
