WEP Equality and Diversity Arts Festival

Date: 15th Jul 2018 @ 8:50pm

Children and young people gathered together to sing, dance, act and perform poetry to celebrate difference and vibrancy in the world around us. Pupils from the thirteen schools in Winsford had been exploring the concepts of equality and diversity through the Winsford Pupil Forum and in their own schools during the year.

What amazing sights and sounds. Year 4 danced a Flamenco style dance. Y5 performed the poem, 'The British' by Benjamin Zapheniah, which explores the multi-faceted heritages which make up the British population of today. The finale consisted of a large group of children dancing an Indian inspired dance and the premier performance of the WEP song, 'Isn't it Amazing', words by Winsford children and composed by Matt Baker.

Thank you children for sharing this important message loud and clear across Winsford and beyond!

Diversity is fun and equality is fair!
