Times Tables

Times Table Help

The National Curriculum outlines that children must know all their times tables by the time they finish year 4. So we have to start learning them in year 3.

I know that many people struggle with learning their times tables so I have written some tips and advice for you to start learning your times tables. I hope it helps :).

  • Chant your times tables forward and then back
  • Write down your times tables again and again
  • Test your child on their way to school
  • Test your child in the car
  • Sing your times tables
  • Get a pack of playing cards and turn them face down. Then if you are trying to learn the two times table, times the number on the playing card by 2 and carry on till you run out of cards. This can be done with any of the times tables.
  • Use YouTube to help you learn

Here are YouTube clips to help you learn your times tables, sing along with these songs and you will know your times tables in no time.
