Treasure Island!

Aaaargh!!!

The pupils from years 1-5 were treated to a visiting production of Treasure Island this afternoon. Although not quite linked to Roald Dahl week (there was a passing reference to an Oompa-Loompa), the children's eyes were opened to an imaginative retelling of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale. There were frantic costume changes, brilliant sound effects, illuminating lights to accompany the battling pirates and the hero Jim. The children enjoyed themselves, even though it did get very loud and un-nerving at times.

Year 5 were treated to a workshop after the performance where we got a 'behind-the-scenes' guide to putting on the performance, and some of the children got to be lighting and sound engineers, and we all got to be actors.

Enjoy the photos!
